Dungeons & Dragons Action Game Warlock Debuts First Trailer at Gamescom

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Wizards of the Coast revealed the first proper trailer for Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons. The footage was introduced on stage by voice actress Maggie Robertson. The trailer features the main character, a veteran warrior named Kaatri, making her pact at the beginning of a D&D campaign to gain forbidden magic and wield powers in a dark fantasy open world.

The title is structured as a third-person action-adventure game focusing on single-player gameplay. Exploration incorporates spells as keys to unlock mysteries, while combat combines magic and melee. The gameplay trailer highlights elements such as town and dungeon exploration, teleportation mechanics to evade enemy monster attacks, weather manipulation spells that trigger bonus effects with lightning attacks, and flashy fluid combat sequences.

Development is being handled by Wizards of the Coast's in-house studio Invoke, with Corinne Busch leading the project. The game is scheduled for a release window in 2027, with more specific details and launch timelines expected to narrow down as development progresses.
