Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Gets Main Trailer Ahead of October 9 Launch
Capcom showcases new enemies, the frozen region of Norgan, official Pawns, and a Switch 2 release in its latest trailer for the Dark Arisen expansion.

Capcom has released the main trailer and new screenshots for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the upcoming expansion to its open-world action RPG. The expansion launches on October 9, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, alongside a Nintendo Switch 2 release that bundles both the base game and the expansion.
The trailer focuses on the frozen northern region of Norgan, an abandoned land players will explore as they join a character named Eir to uncover the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon. The Fallen Dragon can regenerate after taking lethal damage, and the trailer hints that its heart may be held by a potentially greater threat. The expansion also brings back the Evil Eye, an enemy originally found in The Everfall and Bitterblack Isle in the first Dragon's Dogma.
Dark Arisen introduces new enemy types, weapons, armor, and enhanced vocation skills. Players can unearth forgotten relics throughout Norgan's ruins, which can be transformed into powerful new equipment. The expansion includes twelve new Lost Rites dungeon challenges that grant rare equipment once held by past Arisen. Capcom also promises a fresh storyline that sheds additional light on the cycle at the heart of Dragon's Dogma's world, with over 25 hours of content across story, relic hunting, and challenge dungeons.
New character creation options are coming as well, including additional hairstyles and tattoos. The Character Creator and Storage tool, previously available on other platforms, is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. The tool lets players create and save designs for their main character and main Pawn, which can be transferred to the full game. Capcom will update the tool on all platforms to reflect the new creation options included with Dark Arisen.
Capcom also shared new official Pawns during its TGS 2026 Spotlight stream. Like the base game, the expansion features influencer-created characters that players can summon. The new roster includes Vtuber Mint Fantome alongside content creators such as BoomstickGaming, The Spiffing Brit, and Yongnyeo Kim. The original game previously featured Vtubers from Hololive, Holostars, and Nijisanji as official Pawns.
A new Hard Mode difficulty is planned for the expansion, though Capcom has not confirmed when it will be added. Dragon's Dogma 2 is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. The Switch 2 version arrives on October 9 alongside the Dark Arisen expansion on all platforms.
