Edia has officially confirmed it will rerelease Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes I & II on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC worldwide in 2027. The PC Engine CD-ROM² RPGs are currently being demonstrated at Tokyo Game Show.

Edia secured the rights to rerelease both titles, which were originally released for the NEC PC-8801 in 1989 and 1992 respectively, before arriving on the PC Engine CD-ROM² in 1991 and 1992. A flyer distributed at the show floor noted that the PC Engine versions added voice acting in select scenes.

The first Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes follows a young prince named Selios, whose kingdom is stolen and besieged by monsters. Players guide him on a journey to reclaim the throne from the conspirator who betrayed his father. The North American release renamed the protagonist to Logan.

The sequel takes place decades later and focuses on Atlas, the son of the original game's protagonist, exploring his adventures across the world.

This rerelease announcement comes as part of a broader effort to bring classic Nihon Falcom titles to modern platforms. Neowiz separately confirmed plans to bring The Legend of Heroes III: Shiroki Majo to PC and consoles as well. Edia previously held the rights to rerelease additional classic titles including Ys I-IV and The Legend of Xanadu 1 & 2.
