Pirate Adventure Draco and the Seven Scales Launches on Steam After Years in Development
Ice Goat Games' Game Boy-inspired indie game finally releases on Steam and itch.io following a delay from its originally planned 2024 launch.

Draco and the Seven Scales, the pirate-themed indie game from Ice Goat Games, has launched on Steam and itch.io after a lengthy development period. The game was originally scheduled to release in 2024 before experiencing delays that pushed the launch back.
The top-down adventure draws inspiration from The Legend of Zelda games including Link's Awakening and the Oracle series. Players assume the role of a pirate captain on a quest to save his greatest treasure, navigating a sprawling world across seven classic dungeons. The game features retro-inspired pixel art by artist Manelzin and a soundtrack of sea shanties composed by Tohomoko.
Gameplay alternates between land and sea exploration, with players battling monsters, rival captains, and naval forces. The adventure includes over 15 items to collect and a story involving a dark corrupting force. The world design emphasizes top-down dungeon crawling with the crunchy pixel aesthetic of classic Game Boy titles.
On Steam, Draco and the Seven Scales is priced at £13.04 as part of an introductory offer running through October 2nd, 2026. Ice Goat Games has also created bundle offerings in collaboration with the developers of Isle of Reveries and Isles of Sea and Sky. The game is available simultaneously on itch.io for players preferring that platform.
