Double Fine Brings Keeper to PlayStation 5 Following Split From Xbox
Following its split with Xbox, Double Fine Productions has surprise-released its artistic adventure game Keeper on PlayStation 5.
Developer Double Fine Productions has brought its artistic adventure game, Keeper, to the PlayStation 5. Originally launched in October 2025, the title was initially exclusive to PC and Xbox Series X/S. Following Double Fine's split with Microsoft's gaming division earlier this summer—where the studio parted ways as an Xbox Game Studios first-party developer and retained its intellectual property—the previous console exclusivity window has officially come to an end.
During a State of Play presentation, Double Fine revealed that the lighthouse adventure game would arrive on Sony's console immediately. The surprise release marks another step for the studio following its penultimate Xbox project, a pottery party game titled Kiln that launched in April 2026. Keeper, which features a walking but non-talking lighthouse, arrived previously on Steam to glowing reviews despite peaking at fewer than 191 concurrent players during its launch weekend. Fans on PlayStation 5 can now experience the quirky title directly following the studio's transition.
