Dog in the Machine Brings Mecha-Dog Tactics to PC on September 27
Studio Chahut and Goblinz Publishing have announced that their turn-based tactics puzzler Dog in the Machine will launch on September 27.

Developer Studio Chahut and publisher Goblinz Publishing have confirmed a September 27 release date for Dog in the Machine. Ahead of the launch, players can also access and try out a playable demo on Steam. The game is set in a future mecha city where humans have been exiled and cleaning bots are attempting to break down mechanical dogs for parts.
Players control an Autodog on modestly sized grid maps, using a limited energy supply to defeat hostile cleaning bots. The gameplay involves managing regular moves, repeatable core attacks, once-per-turn special abilities, and wildcard tricks. These tricks include duplicating the previous special ability or teleporting through tunnels. Strategy relies heavily on efficiency, positioning, and turning enemies against each other by exploiting terrain fixtures such as conveyor belts and impact-triggered laser defenses.
The mechanics draw comparisons to Into The Breach, though Dog in the Machine offers a relatively relaxed experience with penalty-free move undos and pinball-like map designs. Players must also manage an alarm bar gauge that fills up as enemies take actions, which can be lowered by damaging and destroying opposing bots. The game features a cartoon sci-fi aesthetic paired with agility competition themes.
