Blizzard Announces Diablo V and Diablo IV for Nintendo Switch 2

Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced Diablo V, the next entry in its long-running action RPG franchise. The title is scheduled to launch in spring 2029. According to the developer, Diablo V is set in a world where Sanctuary has fallen and Diablo has emerged victorious. Operating from the throne of Westmarch as a stepping stone to invade the heavens, Diablo wields the people and souls of Sanctuary as weapons. Players will take on the role of the heir of Westmarch to fight back against these forces. The journey involves building a caravan of allies while traversing a procedural landscape that shifts based on its current status. Three initial classes have been revealed for the game: Demon Hunter, Monk, and Plague Knight.

Alongside the next-generation sequel, Blizzard announced that Diablo IV is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 very soon. Originally launched in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, the game centers around a demonic war against Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto. The Nintendo Switch 2 version arrives as the Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection on September 15, 2026. Priced at $69.99, the bundle includes the base game along with both the Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred expansions. Furthermore, the package will support USB keyboard and mouse controls, though Joy-Con 2 mouse controls will not be supported.
