Devolver Digital Announces Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed for Steam
Publisher Devolver Digital has revealed Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed, a Game Boy Color-style 2D platformer developed by Doinksoft, set to launch on Steam on November 19.
Publisher Devolver Digital has announced its upcoming title, Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed, scheduled to launch on Steam on November 19. Billed tongue-in-cheek by the publisher as a "remaster of the second remake of the original monochrome action-platformer starring the most famous video game mascot of all time," the game is actually an entirely new and original creation rather than a remaster of a nonexistent original.
Developed by Doinksoft—the studio behind 2D sidescrollers such as Gato Roboto and Gunbrella—Volvy's Adventure: Reslimed is a Game Boy Color-style 2D platformer. The title features a vibrant art style, a popping soundtrack, and kinetic movement mechanics. Players control Volvy, a rat-esque mascot who can dash through the air, burrow underground, or hover using his tail, and can occasionally transform into a hulked-out alter-ego named Swolvy to smash through obstacles. Gameplay involves jumping on enemies, collecting onions, and battling bosses.
Priced at $5, the game arrives on November 19 alongside other notable releases, positioning itself as counterprogramming for players seeking alternatives during a crowded release window.
