Each Destined for Glory card can upgrade four times throughout the year, with upgrades tracking performances in players' domestic leagues only. Upgrade requirements differ based on player position: Midfielders and Attackers have separate thresholds from Defensive Midfielders and Defenders. The tracking system began September 18, giving players a week of performance data before the promo goes live.
