Deadlock Gets Six New Heroes and Visual Overhaul in Massive Update
Valve's unreleased multiplayer shooter receives a substantial patch featuring new characters, overhauled map lanes, over 10,000 voice lines, and expanded accessibility options.

Valve has released a major update for Deadlock, its invite-only multiplayer shooter, adding significant new content and features to the game two years after its initial limited release.
The update introduces six new heroes to the roster: Nurse Harrow, Rat King, Solomon, Deadman Danny, Baba, and Violet. Each character brings a distinct playstyle to the tactical shooter experience.
The map has received a comprehensive visual overhaul across all three main lanes. The blue lane now features a New York mid-century aesthetic, the green lane adopts a gothic style, and the yellow lane pursues an industrial and Wall Street theme. Four districts have also been redesigned, including areas inspired by a theatre district, Chinatown, a haunted location, and a central plaza.
Interface improvements accompany the visual changes. Players now benefit from clearer health bars, improved stat indicators, and a new event feed highlighting key match moments. The ping system has been reworked alongside other communication elements.
The update adds over 10,000 non-ping voice lines for characters, complete with a dialogue player allowing players to review all new audio. Additional quality-of-life improvements include a parry cooldown display near the reticle and expanded custom lobbies supporting up to eight spectators.
Accessibility has been prioritized with new features including enemy colour modification options, auto movement and firing settings, and voice-over subtitles. The patch contains numerous additional tweaks and refinements across gameplay systems.
