CRKD launches ULT PRO Switch 2 controller at $69.99, matching 8BitDo's price with extra back buttons

CRKD has launched the ULT PRO, its debut pro controller for Nintendo Switch 2, arriving at $69.99 via Amazon. The controller features TMR thumbsticks, trigger stops, swappable stick toppers and d-pad, four back paddles, and two additional programmable shoulder buttons.

The ULT PRO uses a BAYX face button layout tailored to Switch 2, with CRKD offering separate SKUs for Nintendo and PC versions. The controller comes with a charging dock included in the package.

At the same $69.99 price point, the ULT PRO's primary competitor is 8BitDo's Ultimate 2. Both controllers share TMR thumbsticks, trigger stops, profile selection, and asymmetrical layouts. However, the Ultimate 2 includes motion control and wake functionality that the ULT PRO omits. CRKD compensates with four back paddles instead of 8BitDo's two, styled similarly to Razer's Wolverine V3 Pro implementation.

The ULT PRO's four back buttons and additional shoulder buttons offer more programmability than Nintendo's official $90 Pro Controller 2, which emphasizes tactile feel with dampened face buttons and smooth thumbsticks. CRKD's offering targets players seeking extra control options and customization without paying premium prices.

Available now via Amazon, the ULT PRO comes in Pal Grey and Smoke Black editions. The controller positions itself between budget third-party options and expensive premium alternatives like SteelSeries' recently launched $260 Aeon Pro.
