Crimson Desert Update 1.18.00 Brings 'Quests' Knowledge Category and Bug Fixes

Developer Pearl Abyss has released a major patch for Crimson Desert across all formats. Update 1.18.00 introduces several key content additions, system improvements, and numerous bug fixes to address gameplay issues.

The primary highlight of the update is the addition of 'Quests' as a new knowledge category. This category is split into eight sub-categories: Main Quests, Faction Quests, Investigation Quests, Research Quests, Daily Life Quests, Guide, Archive Records, and Constellations. According to the patch notes, certain quest knowledge entries will be granted retroactively if players have already completed the corresponding quests. Additional knowledge system adjustments include allowing players to gain animal knowledge by picking them up rather than killing them, and acquiring 'Mysterious Invitation' knowledge after completing 'Read the memory beneath Delesyia Castle.'

Other notable updates include changing the required research resource from silvers to camp funds, enabling horse gear to be equipped directly at the stable, and fixing an issue where high-value trade goods could be stacked and loaded in quantities of up to 100. The update also modifies the 'Lock-on Camera Rotation' input settings, replacing the previous enabled and disabled options with three new choices: manual, semi-auto, and auto.

Combat, UI, graphics, and localization fixes round out the patch. These include resolving issues with special mounts getting stuck on low ledges, fixing indoor lighting instabilities, preventing camera jitter during low-FPS conditions, and addressing rendering corruption when FSR Frame Generation or XeSS Frame Generation is enabled on low-end graphics cards such as the GTX 1060.
