Crimson Desert Announces Charting the Unknown DLC for Oct 15

Pearl Abyss has officially announced the first paid DLC for Crimson Desert, titled Charting the Unknown, set to launch on October 15. The expansion draws players beyond the titular desert into a hidden region where "whispers of darkness" are gathering, introducing a host of new gameplay elements.

New mechanics include the ability for Kliff to swim and explore underwater thanks to a diving suit, a travel pack for faster movement, and even a shark companion. Players will also gain their own ship for sailing across the seas. Base building is expanded with the Greymanes constructing a castle and being assigned tasks such as cooking, adding deeper settlement dynamics. As previously rumored, Kliff’s aquatic abilities are now confirmed, along with water striding skills introduced in the recent Enhanced update.

Combat gets tougher with fresh boss encounters, ranging from human hand‑to‑hand fighters to a giant, laser‑toting mechanical crab. The DLC will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, complementing the recent Enhanced update that refines the base game’s story and adds additional abilities.
