Control Resonant PC Performance Analysis Highlights Strong Scalability Across Lower Graphics Presets
Remedy's Control Resonant offers robust performance and visual fidelity across lower graphics presets on PC, reducing the need to push hardware to its absolute maximum.

Remedy's latest supernatural action title, Control Resonant, is powered by the Northlight Engine and offers PC players a comprehensive suite of graphics settings to tweak. Recent performance analysis indicates that players do not need to stress their hardware with top whack settings to enjoy solid image quality and smooth frame rates. While the game features full path tracing and demanding Ultra presets at the very top end, lower graphics and ray tracing presets deliver strong performance without sacrificing visual appeal.
Testing across various hardware configurations shows that Control Resonant is a GPU bound title. Even at 1080p without ray tracing or path tracing, modern graphics cards are heavily utilized. At 1440p and 4K resolutions, the game becomes significantly more demanding. However, upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4 provide substantial performance boosts. For instance, DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution allows cards like the NVIDIA RTX 5080 to achieve high frame rates at demanding resolutions and settings, mitigating the heavy performance hit introduced by path tracing.
Players can independently adjust ray tracing settings alongside standard graphics options like shadows, lighting, textures, shading, and foliage. Testing reveals that the difference between Medium and High ray tracing presets is minimal in terms of both average frame rates and visual fidelity during active gameplay. Similarly, regular graphics presets show that High and Medium settings sit closely together within margins of error. Dropping settings down to Low or Medium still preserves a remarkable amount of detail, largely thanks to the title's distinct art style and reactive environments.
Not all visual elements hit the mark, however. While the environments boast impressive detail, reflective puddles, and stark shadows, the main protagonist Dylan has drawn criticism for looking unpolished on Ultra settings with path tracing enabled. Aside from character model discrepancies, testers reported smooth gameplay free of major stuttering issues during prologues and open world areas. Players looking to balance visual quality and performance can find a comfortable sweet spot by utilizing High or Medium presets alongside modern upscaling tools.
