Control Resonant Launch Hotfix Nerfs Enemy Health and Buffs Dylan's Damage

Remedy Games released a day-one patch for Control Resonant that reduces enemy health pools and stun requirements across most encounters. The update also increases damage scaling, makes respeccing cheaper, and requires PC players to re-download the game.

Remedy Games released a launch hotfix for Control Resonant addressing early-game difficulty feedback, but the patch created an unexpected issue on PC that forces players to download the entire game again.

The hotfix, version 1.3.3 on PC, 1.3.3.0 on Xbox Series X/S, and 01.300.300 on PS5, targets complaints about enemies feeling too tanky during the opening hours. Remedy reduced the base health and required Falter (stun) level of most enemies, including the Dancer and Deserter bosses. The developers also increased maximum Aberrant Strength and maximum Ability Strength, with larger damage increases scaling toward the end of the game.

Stun mechanics saw particular attention. In early playthroughs, players could kill enemies before accumulating enough Falter damage to trigger the execution system. The patch makes enemies easier to stun, encouraging use of this core combat mechanic.

Dylan's overall combat strength received an early-game boost. Remedy stated in patch notes: "We strongly believe these changes will improve the gameplay feel and flow while still providing a challenge."

The update also eases character progression. Respeccing costs have been permanently reduced, and Reset Item stock increased across all vendors. The first Resonant boss, The Artist, now drops two Reset Items instead of one, making build experimentation more accessible.

Players who want to further customize their experience can use Assist Mode, which offers sliders to adjust enemy aggression, incoming damage, ability recovery speed, and other individual aspects. The mode lets players make the game harder or easier depending on preference.

UI text has been updated for clarity. "Aberrant Strength: Multiplier X%" now reads "Damage and Falter X%." Build Power descriptions now reference "unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms/upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades" instead of only equipped items.

The PC re-download issue stems from the hotfix triggering "certain platform mechanisms" unique to that platform, according to Remedy. The developers said they are monitoring feedback and will make further adjustments as needed.

Control Resonant is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
