Control Resonant Goes Gold Over a Month Ahead of Release, Physical Edition Delayed

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control Resonant, the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 title, has officially gone gold over a month ahead of its scheduled release. In the gaming industry, going gold means that a studio has completed final development on a title and it is ready to be shipped to fans. Developers have also revealed that the upcoming sequel features almost twice as many hours of gameplay as its predecessor.

Despite reaching this major milestone early, developer updates shared via the official Remedy Entertainment X account confirm that only the digital version of the game is ready to ship on release day. For players who prefer physical copies, the studio needs extra time to complete production, resulting in a physical edition delay. The physical release date has been pushed back to October 15, 2026.

Fans looking to secure copies ahead of launch can pre-order the title now. Pre-ordering grants access to bonus content including the Hiss Corruption Outfits and the Pickpocket’s Tool Artifact. Additionally, a digital deluxe edition is available for purchase, offering further extras such as a digital artbook, the original soundtrack, the Untapped Artifact (Wallet), a Starter Resource Bundle, and the AWE Mission Outfit.
