CD Projekt shares fell slightly following the official announcement of a new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Rumors that the company was working on a third downloadable content package for the game have turned out to be true, with the Polish company formally revealing the project under the title Songs of the Past.

Investors reacted coolly to the news. By the time of writing, the stock price of CD Projekt dropped to 239 złotys, which is approximately 65.7 dollars per share. This represents a 5.16 percent decrease compared to their value during the morning market opening. While the exact reason for the negative investor reaction remains unclear, market sentiments could shift further as a quarterly report from the company is scheduled for release the following day on May 28.

The upcoming expansion is being developed by the studio Fool's Theory. Story details remain sparse at this stage, but the protagonist will continue to be Geralt of Rivia as he embarks on a brand new adventure. The release of Songs of the Past is scheduled for 2027, and the expansion will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
