Call of Duty: Warzone Gets Operator Skin Toggle to Hide Non-Military Cosmetics
Activision is introducing a new toggle in Warzone Season 1 that lets players replace other players' operator skins with Modern Warfare 4 characters, addressing years of community complaints about outlandish cosmetics.

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone will receive an Operator Skin Toggle starting with Season 1, giving players the ability to customize their experience by hiding cosmetics they find too outlandish.
The toggle will replace other players' equipped skins with a random Modern Warfare 4 Operator from the player's perspective only. Other players will continue to see their own chosen cosmetics as normal. The feature will be switched off by default, allowing players to opt in if they want a more grounded experience.
The move addresses a long-standing complaint within the Call of Duty community. Over the years, operator skins have strayed far from the franchise's traditional military aesthetic, with cosmetics based on Nicki Minaj, American Dad, Beavis and Butthead, Squid Game, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles making their way into the game.
When Modern Warfare 4 was announced, Activision acknowledged these concerns and promised to "stay true to Modern Warfare," with "no clowny skins for launch and seasons beyond." However, cosmetics carried over from previous Call of Duty titles mean Warzone remains packed with non-military operator skins.
The Operator Skin Toggle provides players with agency over their visual experience without restricting what other players can equip or display. Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026, with Season 1 expected to follow in the weeks after.
