Developer Nextale has released an updated demo for its isometric tactical RPG Calame. The new version, available on Steam, introduces a playable faction, a Camp hub, and visual and gameplay refinements.

Alongside the demo update, Nextale announced that Shine Publishing and Radical Theory will serve as co-publishers for Calame's full launch. The game is planned to release on PC later this year, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions following in 2027.

Calame is set in the realm of Westalia, where players lead a rebellion against the tyrannical King of Light. Gameplay centers on customizing an army with melee specialists, ranged fighters, mages, and support classes. Players unlock abilities, gain levels, and acquire legendary gear as they progress.

The game features a reactive choice system where decisions made during conversations and events directly alter the Rebellion's political alignment and grant passive traits that reshape playstyles, faction relationships, and the story. A special Legend resource allows players to actively rewrite and manipulate the battlefield environment mid-combat.
