Bungie has outlined its strategic priorities in a new leadership statement, committing to rebuild player trust through focused development on Destiny and Marathon alongside increased transparency about development progress.

The studio acknowledged recent difficulties, noting it has "lost trust, lost colleagues and lost sight of prioritising our players." To address these concerns, the new leadership group established core commitments that will guide the studio forward: building a stronger long-term future for Destiny while honoring its past, evolving Marathon to grow community and build sustainability, increasing transparency around development priorities, and communicating more consistently when plans change.

For Destiny, Bungie's first major initiative involves restoring vaulted campaigns, destinations, and raids into Destiny 2. The studio described this restoration as foundational work that will "lay the foundation for how we reforge into new stories and games that you all deserve," though acknowledged the process will "take time." The goal is to "return Destiny to its original promise, to recapture the qualities that have always made it special."

Marathon will undergo significant evolution into a deeper survival experience with strengthened combat, world design, and competitive tension. The studio aims to provide more meaningful experiences across all game modes.

In a statement addressing the work ahead, Bungie emphasized the importance of aligning vision with reality. "Stability doesn't mean shrinking our ambition," the studio said. "It just means that we have to focus on the things you want to see from us, and making sure our vision matches our reality." The studio stressed that rebuilding must center player priorities, noting the need to "find a way back to making games that we want to play, but with you at the center."

Bungie acknowledged the significant challenges ahead while expressing confidence in its people and upcoming projects. "There is still a great deal of work ahead and challenges to overcome, but we believe deeply in this studio, our people, and the games we are building," the studio stated. "But belief is not enough. It's on us to prove progress through what we deliver." The studio called on players to hold it accountable as it works to demonstrate tangible progress.
