Brokensides Mixes Psychological Horror With Beat 'Em Up Combat
FUNKYHEART developer juicce's new game puts you in the shoes of a violent sea bunny freed from prison, fighting glass enemies in a surreal wireframe world.

Brokensides, a new psychological horror beat 'em up from developer juicce, has just been announced. The game pairs the horror genre with combat mechanics in an unusual mashup that stands out from typical genre combinations.
You play as a violent sea bunny recently freed from imprisonment after committing a Cardinal Crime. The game's visual style blends oldschool wireframe 3D, improperly rendered models with strange colours, and ASCII art to create a barren, desolate world. The landscape is populated with 2D characters and glass-bodied enemies that you engage in combat with.
Combat appears to focus on grappling and streetbrawling style fighting, similar in feel to Absolver according to Rock Paper Shotgun. You can both dropkick and suplex enemies, and they shatter into chunky, crystalline pieces when hit, with fragments flying across the screen.
The game's Steam page includes a charming note that "while you explore you can pose and sit wherever you like!! Even if you don't deserve it!!" Brokensides was only recently announced and has no release date, window, or year confirmed yet. The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
