Borderlands 4 Details Story Pack 2 Featuring FL4K and a John Wick-Inspired Rescue Mission
Gearbox has revealed details for Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2, titled FL4K and the Last Resort, which brings back the Beastmaster class for a rescue mission and introduces a new Vault Hunter.
Gearbox is continuing its support for Borderlands 4 following what it acknowledged was a softer-than-expected launch. The developer has officially detailed the $20 Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2, titled FL4K and the Last Resort. The expansion marks the return of the playable Beastmaster class, FL4K, from Borderlands 3.
The narrative centers around a rescue mission after FL4K's skag is kidnapped by Tediore soldiers on the new tropical jungle map, Providence. Art director Chris Neely noted that the update features a "little bit of a Mad Max edge" and "a little John Wick action." In addition to FL4K, Story Pack 2 introduces a new Vault Hunter named Loveless, a cyberpunk hacker utilizing advanced cybernetics and a sentient digital virus pet, alongside new enemy types called Deadframes.
For loot, the expansion includes two new Pearlescent weapons—the Astonisher Ripper shotgun and the Quadratus Vladof Heavy Weapon Ordnance—and 18 new pieces of Legendary gear. Releasing alongside Story Pack 2 is a smaller $6 Bounty Pack titled Amara and the Vile Shadows, featuring a replayable mission, one new Pearlescent weapon, and six new Legendaries.
Furthermore, a concurrent system update brings the game to version 1.10, increasing the maximum level cap by 10 for all players.
