Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Trailer Confirms January 2027 Netflix Release Date

Netflix has released a new trailer for Blue Eye Samurai season 2, confirming that new episodes are scheduled to arrive in January 2027. The brief preview clip shows protagonist Mizu on a boat headed to London while a storm threatens to cause a shipwreck. This latest footage debuted as part of Netflix's anime slate presentation at Anime NYC.

According to the official logline for the upcoming season, Mizu's bloody quest continues in London as she encounters new friends, old foes, and her own inner demons. Meanwhile, back in Japan, Akemi and Taigen will navigate Edo Castle under a dangerous new Shogun, while Ringo searches for a new purpose. A previously shared clip from season 2, shown at Annecy, featured Mizu arriving in London and entering an underground fighting ring where male opponents underestimate her abilities.

Created by the husband-and-wife team Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, Blue Eye Samurai originally premiered on Netflix in November 2023 and received a swift second-season renewal the following December. The voice cast includes notable performers such as Kenneth Branagh, Brenda Song, George Takei, Masi Oka, and Randall Park. Speaking previously about the direction of the series, Noizumi noted that Mizu's core motivation remains unchanged, emphasizing that revenge is her religion.
