BlizzCon made its big return for the first time since 2023. Blizzard used the weekend to show what almost every one of its major series is doing next. Diablo is coming back to a new mainline entry, StarCraft will become an open-world shooter, and World of Warcraft: Forever is turning the long-requested Classic+ idea into a third version of World of Warcraft. Even Warcraft 3 has new story content more than two decades later.

Some of these games are still years away. Diablo V targets a 2029 release, and the new StarCraft shooter is not coming out until 2030. Blizzard decided to announce them early to showcase confidence and gather feedback from players. Several other projects are considerably closer to launch. WoW Forever releases in November, and the new Warcraft 3 campaign is already out for players to enjoy.

In addition to these major announcements, updates are officially on the way for Overwatch, Hearthstone, Diablo IV, and Heroes of the Storm. Players looking for immediate content can jump into the newly released Warcraft 3 campaign, while others will need to wait several years for the newly unveiled long-term projects to materialize.
