Black Salt Games, the independent studio behind Dredge, has announced Team Trifold as a new Christchurch-based game development studio. Team Trifold joins Black Salt Games and Disc 2 Games, with all three studios developing games under the same roof in Christchurch. To support these teams, the newly established Saltworks Entertainment will provide shared expertise across production, marketing, QA, localisation, audio, business operations and publishing. This structure allows each development team to retain creative independence.

Team Trifold is currently working on its debut title, Nothing Lost. The game is a generational action-roguelike where players battle through shifting dungeons and build a lineage of heroes. Jed Uy of Team Trifold stated that the title celebrates the optimism of incremental human progress. Wilson Teo added that the game remembers every player attempt, allowing players to infuse and compound spirit powers over time to make each run more powerful.

Alongside this studio announcement, Disc 2 Games released a free Steam demo for its turn-based tactics RPG, Canvas City. The demo features the tutorial, the first four levels and six playable characters across three classes. Nothing Lost is currently in development for PC and is available to wishlist on Steam. Meanwhile, Canvas City is in development for PC and Nintendo Switch.
