Black Myth: Zhong Kui Gets 15-Minute Gameplay Trailer From Game Science
Developer Game Science has unexpectedly released a 15-minute gameplay and cutscene trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, exactly a year after the game's original announcement.
Chinese studio Game Science has surprised fans by releasing an extensive 15-minute video for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, marking exactly one year since the title's original announcement. Following up on Black Myth: Wukong, the newly revealed video features fluid transitions between cutscenes and gameplay, showcasing the main hero, various other characters, and intensive combat sequences against both normal enemies and powerful bosses.
According to the developer, the game remains in early development. The newly published footage was captured in-game from a work-in-progress PC build running at a 21:9 aspect ratio, and Game Science cautions that the final release may look different. Technical details indicate that the single-player action role-playing game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. The title draws its primary creative inspiration from the famous Chinese folk figure Zhong Kui.
Alongside the video, the footage was accompanied by an official poem with lines reflecting on the Underworld, though its precise significance remains mysterious. Currently, a concrete release date or estimated time of arrival has not been announced, with reports indicating that development will take time. Official website notes hint that a reveal may occur every August 20, suggesting fans might wait another year for subsequent major updates. Specific platforms have not been fully detailed outside of PC and major consoles, and store pages on Steam or the Epic Games Store have not yet been launched.
