Bethesda Game Studios has issued a warning to owners of Fallout 4 regarding an incoming patch scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th. The upcoming update focuses primarily on general improvements to the Creations platform, the in-game ecosystem powered by digital currency that allows certain mods to be paywalled. Because the patch interacts directly with the Creations platform, it carries the potential to impact mod files, installation structures, and active load orders.

Given that many community members run the post-apocalyptic title with extensive stacks of mods, Bethesda is urging players to take preventative measures. As a precaution, the studio encourages players to log into their game saves if they have not done so recently or to manually save their load orders ahead of time. According to Bethesda, once a load order is successfully saved, players will be able to re-download their entire Creations list at once after the update goes live.
