Beat Saber is getting a significant hand-tracking update in Spring 2027. The new experience, called Flux, fundamentally reimagines the rhythm game for hand-based input on Meta Quest and Meta VR Glasses.

Instead of wielding sabers, players use 'Flux Powers', electricity-imbued hand moves to slice through different note types in time with the music. The 'Flux Tether' channels power between your palms to hit rod-style notes. Punch-through notes come in blue, red, or light purple, with purple indicating you need both hands together. Destroying notes builds Jolt energy for score boosts.

Flux will support both hand-tracking and Touch controllers at launch. The update arrives with 35 songs from the Original Soundtracks, Extras, and Anniversary packs, featuring artists including Lindsey Stirling, Teminite, DragonForce, Haywyre, Camellia, Boom Kitty, Jaroslav Beck and Zakka G. Meta plans to add more Flux songs after launch.

The update also includes an enhanced Campaign mode with a light narrative element, new barriers, missions, in-game rewards, and a redesigned menu system aimed at faster access to game modes and content.
