Beast of Reincarnation Update 1.0.12 Adds Cutscene Skipping and DLSS Improvements

Game Freak and Fictions have released Update 1.0.12 for Beast of Reincarnation, introducing skippable cutscenes and technical enhancements while outlining harder future difficulty levels.

Developers Game Freak and Fictions have released a new post-launch patch for their action game, Beast of Reincarnation. Update 1.0.12 brings a selection of quality-of-life adjustments, graphical setting updates, and bug fixes to the game, while the development team continues to evaluate player feedback for future content plans.

The primary focus of Update 1.0.12 is on streamlining the game's flow. Players can now skip almost all event scenes and cutscenes, complete with a new on-screen "Skip" indicator to identify skippable moments. The developers noted that a very small number of cutscenes remain unskippable for now, though these will be addressed in a future update. Additionally, finishing animations are now skippable, and previously viewed tutorial Tips will no longer display during New Game+ playthroughs.

On PC, the update refines graphical settings for NVIDIA users. Frame Generation options now automatically adjust based on whether an RTX 40 or RTX 50 Series GPU is detected. Furthermore, players using DLSS-Dynamic on a monitor with a refresh rate of 120Hz or higher can now set a specific target frame rate. Control customization has also been improved, adding "Switch ammo slot 1–3" options to the button mapping menu.

A selection of bugs have been resolved in this patch. Key fixes address an issue where skipping certain cutscenes immediately upon starting caused them to hang, and another where the player could become trapped if they died at the exact moment they defeated enemies in specific event battles. English voice-over subtitle errors for the character Emma have been resolved, alongside various progression blockers in boss and event battles.

Looking ahead, Game Freak and Fictions detailed several future updates. Plans include the option to skip the Pilgrim's Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone, and Fuji Frontier Zone after clearing the mid-game Great Wall Terraces Zone, allowing New Game+ players to reach the Capital faster. The developers also intend to revamp attack patterns for similar boss types, specifically Shidou and Nushi variants. Finally, players can expect harder difficulty levels above "Hard" for the initial playthrough, alongside even tougher options for New Game+ runs, auto-pickup for enemy drops, and adjustments to invisible boundaries.
