BeamNG.drive console exclusive arrives on PS5 next month
The ultra-realistic physics-based racing simulator BeamNG.drive will launch on PS5 on October 19th, with enhanced support for PS5 Pro. The port includes a new vehicle, split-screen support, and FSR 3.0 upscaling on standard PS5, though mod support won't

BeamNG.drive, a cult-favorite physics-based racing simulator from PC, will make its console exclusive debut on PS5 on October 19th. The announcement came with a new trailer that signals the game's transition from PC-only release to Sony's platform.
The PS5 version will feature technical differences depending on which console players own. Standard PS5 units will use FSR 3.0 upscaling technology, while PS5 Pro owners will benefit from PSSR for enhanced image quality. Both versions include a brand new vehicle available from day one and split-screen support for local multiplayer.
BeamNG.drive is built around a soft-body physics engine that simulates vehicle components in real time. Rather than a traditional racing game, it functions as a sandbox with 12 distinct maps offering various time trials and gameplay scenarios. The game's PC version became a quiet sensation after attracting nearly one million views on its debut trailer.
Mod support will not be available on PlayStation at launch. The press release states that supporting mods on console presents unique challenges and while possibilities are being explored, timing and scope cannot be confirmed. Mod authoring tools like the World Editor are not currently planned for the platform.
No price or pre-order information has been announced yet. The game's arrival on PS5 during October's crowded release window represents a significant addition to Sony's racing library, particularly as the PlayStation audience has demonstrated strong interest in driving simulators across European markets.
