Baby Khezu Joins Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance

Capcom announced at Tokyo Game Show 2026 that Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance will feature Baby Khezu, a new juvenile form of the flying wyvern. This marks the first time the monster has appeared as a baby in the series.

The teaser video shows Baby Khezu without the wings and legs of its adult counterpart. In combat, the creature behaves differently from the mature version, attaching to hunters like a leech and dealing continuous damage while biting. The video begins with a hunter crouching nearby as the baby monster growls, shows its teeth, then lunges and latches onto the player character.

Official artwork released on Capcom's Japanese social media account depicts Baby Khezu both at rest and in an attack posture. The standard adult version of Khezu will also return in Ascendance.

Khezu first appeared in the original Monster Hunter on PS2 and has remained a recurring enemy throughout the franchise. Its most recent main series appearance was in Monster Hunter Rise, though the wyvern has also featured in all three Monster Hunter Stories entries. Capcom regularly produces merchandise featuring the character.

Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with a Switch 2 release set for December 4, 2026. Ascendance is scheduled to launch in 2027 across all platforms including Switch 2.
