Attack on Titan 3 overhauls combat with Focus Mode for precision Titan takedowns
Koei Tecmo's Attack on Titan 3 introduces a revamped combat system centered on Focus Mode, which slows time to let players target specific Titan body parts. The game launches December 10 across multiple platforms.

Koei Tecmo is releasing Attack on Titan 3, a new entry that will cover the full storyline of the now-concluded anime series. The game features a substantially revamped combat system that departs from its predecessor.
At Tokyo Game Show 2026, a playable demo showcased the new mechanics. The demo placed players in control of a custom protagonist alongside Levi while pursuing Zeke through a forest, culminating in a boss fight against the Beast Titan.
The most significant change is Focus Mode, which replaces the previous snipe mechanic. Players activate Focus Mode with the R2 button to slow time and precisely aim for specific Titan body parts. The feature works while airborne, giving players flexibility in positioning before locking onto targets. Players can choose to target limbs first or attack the nape directly for a quicker kill.
Other control updates include holding L2 to glide with anchors instead of pressing Square, and the attack button (Square) now guarantees hits without timing requirements, unless a Titan interrupts the action. Small and regular Titans can be defeated quickly with precision nape strikes, but large and boss-class Titans must be broken first through attacks on other body parts before they can be fully defeated.
The full game will let players create a custom avatar who survives throughout the entire series storyline, a departure from Attack on Titan 2 where the created character disappeared partway through. Attack on Titan 3 launches December 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
