Astral Ascent Rated for Nintendo Switch 2 in Taiwan
The action roguelite has received an official rating from Taiwan's board, signaling a dedicated Switch 2 version is in development alongside backward compatibility support.

Astral Ascent, the popular action roguelite, has been rated by Taiwan's Rating Board for Nintendo Switch 2, according to reporting from Insider Gaming. H2 Interactive is listed as the publisher for the Switch 2 version, the same company that published the game on PlayStation 4 and 5. Hibemian Workshop developed the title.
The rating suggests a dedicated Switch 2 release is coming, though the game is already playable on the console through backward compatibility. Performance gains over the current experience may be limited, as the existing version already runs well on the hardware.
The rating doesn't confirm what will accompany the Switch 2 release. One possibility is that the Switch version will finally receive updates to match the current PC build. However, delays in bringing newer versions to Switch have historically stemmed from Nintendo's approval process rather than developer limitations.
More likely is the release of substantial content updates timed with the Switch 2 announcement. Developers have confirmed a major reveal is planned for the Triple-I Initiative showcase, which would be a natural venue for the announcement if the timing aligns.
Players with the game on other platforms can already experience Astral Ascent, but a dedicated Switch 2 version with potential new content would mark the first major platform-specific release since the game's original launch.
