Namco's Arcade Racer Cyber Cycles Getting First Home Port on Modern Consoles

Publisher and developer Hamster is continuing its trend of bringing classic Namco arcade titles to modern gaming hardware. Following previous releases under the Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 banners, the company has announced that the 1995 motorbike-themed arcade racer Cyber Cycles is making the jump to home consoles for the very first time. Some players have previously described the title as resembling Ridge Racer on motorbikes.

Originally released by Namco in arcades as a large two-player bike-style cabinet that could link together for four-player multiplayer, the upcoming home version adapts the experience for modern controllers. The game features two circuits to race through—Green Hill and Neo Yokohama—and offers three initial bikes to choose from: the Anthias, the NVR750R, and the Wild Hog. Set against a near-future backdrop, players pick from these machines with distinct performance features to race against rivals.

The title is scheduled to launch on Thursday, August 20, 2026, across a wide array of platforms including Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Pricing and features vary depending on the platform version. The Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 Arcade Archives editions are priced at $14.99 and are limited to single-player, though they include additional features such as Hi-Score mode, Caravan Mode, online leaderboards, and CRT filters.

Meanwhile, versions for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S are priced at $16.99 and include a Time Attack mode alongside support for a four-player experience. In addition to Cyber Cycles, Hamster has also lined up other Arcade Archives 2 releases, such as a rerelease of Nichibutsu's Ninja Emaki for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox for Windows priced at $9.99.
