Arc Raiders Update 1.42.0 Introduces Regional Map Condition Scheduling

Developer Embark has rolled out a fresh update for the PvPvE extraction shooter Arc Raiders, bringing new phantom target tasks, map condition tweaks, and a significant structural change to how map conditions are scheduled. According to the team, the latest update addresses long-standing accessibility issues regarding map conditions that previously followed a single, global release for all players.

Previously, map conditions like Bird City or Cold Snap could be difficult to experience for players whose local timezones did not align with the global rollouts, leading to situations where certain conditions were only live during work or sleeping hours. While increasing the frequency of map conditions provided some relief, regional discrepancies still persisted. To solve this, Embark has introduced Regional Map Condition Scheduling starting with update version 1.42.0.

Under the new system, map conditions will have their schedules offset based on regions rather than relying on a unified global schedule. Embark notes that this shift is designed to align scheduling with player habits, adjusting to fit specific regions' peak hours. Players can inspect the adjusted schedules using the game's map conditions tracker, which now features multiple conditions ticking away hourly during regional peak times.
