Arc Raiders reveals player breakdown as PvE toggle test approaches
Embark Studios shared population statistics showing 37% of Arc Raiders players prefer friendly co-op, while over 70% of that group want fewer hostile encounters.

Embark Studios released a breakdown of Arc Raiders' player population, revealing distinct preferences across its extraction shooter community.
According to the studio, 37% of players identify as friendly co-op focused, a group that has grown consistently since launch. A further 27% play in mixed modes, while 34% engage primarily in pure PvP, a segment that has remained stable.
The data accompanied Embark's announcement of a PvE toggle test coming next month. The studio found strong appetite for reduced hostility across the playerbase. Over 70% of friendly co-op players expressed interest in fewer hostile encounters, and even 40% of pure PvP players shared that sentiment. Across all surveyed players, 51% expressed interest in a dedicated PvE option.
The statistics suggest that despite Arc Raiders' design as a competitive extraction shooter, a substantial portion of its audience values cooperative gameplay without player-versus-player conflict.
