ARC Raiders Continues to Drive Revenue Growth for Nexon Despite Steam Stagnation
Nexon reports continued financial growth thanks to ARC Raiders sales, even as Steam player figures and interest experience stagnation following a shift to biyearly updates.
Extraction shooter ARC Raiders continues to deliver strong financial results for Nexon, the parent company of developer Embark Studios. According to financial figures from Nexon, the game sold an additional 800,000 units during the most recent quarter, contributing to a year-over-year growth period. Overall lifetime sales for the title now sit at more than 16.3 million copies sold since its launch.
Nexon expressed satisfaction with the ongoing commercial performance and expects further growth next quarter. While company executives acknowledge that momentum for ARC Raiders will eventually slow down, they remain unconcerned due to supplementary revenue from other properties, such as the MapleStory franchise.
Despite the strong sales figures, engagement metrics on Steam have experienced some stagnation. Embark Studios previously shifted its content strategy for ARC Raiders toward massive, biyearly updates rather than frequent smaller drops. Consequently, concurrent player counts on Steam currently float around the 40,000 mark as fans await future content additions, including the upcoming Frozen Trail update slated for October.
