Arc Raiders' Next Major Update 'Frozen Trails' Brings Snowy Map and New Threats in October

Embark Studios has released information regarding the next major update for Arc Raiders, titled Frozen Trails. According to the developers, the update aims to improve the core experience by introducing a snowy map, new weapons, and fresh ARC threats designed to test veteran players.

The centerpiece of the update is the frozen map itself, which transports players beyond the mountains to investigate a strange signal emanating from the tundra. Explorers will traverse abandoned homes, villages, research facilities, and an observatory to gather loot while facing fresh hazards above and below ground.

Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal explained in a blog post that the new ARC threats will arrive alongside the map to challenge how players move, fight, and adapt. These additions range from smaller problem-makers to an enormous new machine intended to halt players in their tracks. The update also introduces a new high-level challenge and Arc Operation tailored for experienced raiders, featuring dynamic encounters and moments requiring careful teamwork and judgment.

Embark Studios has stated that more information regarding the update will be revealed closer to its release in October. The update seeks to provide variety and force players to expand upon their habitual playstyles as the community continues to grow.
