Arc Raiders shakes up loot spawns with dynamic zone system
The Frozen Trails update randomizes where valuable loot appears each session on Pendola Pass, forcing players away from predictable farming routes.

Arc Raiders is testing a dynamic loot system designed to keep expeditions fresh. On the Pendola Pass map in the upcoming Frozen Trails update, point-of-interest zones will shuffle their loot value between sessions instead of staying static.
The studio explained the change: "This has been requested on and off over time; we are trying it in Frozen Trails, specifically on the Pendola Pass map. So if you're familiar with Arc Raiders you know it will have on the map like yellow and red zones to indicate the overall loot value of that area, and we're trying a system where session to session it mixes those around." A high-value zone in one run might drop to medium value the next, with another POI taking its place as the premium loot spot.
The shift addresses a key replayability issue. Once players memorize map layouts and optimal loot routes, expeditions become repetitive runs to the same extraction points. The dynamic zones force different decision-making and map exploration each session. This comes alongside a new PvE mode and other quality-of-life improvements in the Frozen Trails update, signaling a major refresh for the free-to-play shooter.
