Another Eden Begins Rebuilt From Scratch as Premium Console and PC Game
Wright Flyer Studios is launching Another Eden Begins on September 17 for PC and Nintendo platforms, rebuilding the original mobile RPG into a one-time-purchase console experience with full voice acting and revamped combat.

Wright Flyer Studios is scheduled to release the command-based time-travel JRPG Another Eden Begins on September 17. The title will be available for PC through Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, alongside a free demo across platforms. The project is based on Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, an ongoing live-service game launched in 2017. Producer Shinnosuke Hirasawa explained that the team wanted to take Part 1 of the main story and rebuild it as a premium console game to officially expand the intellectual property into the console market.
Live-service titles face the inherent issue of becoming unplayable once services are terminated. Additionally, development scales can shrink over time as a live-service game continues for years. By transforming the foundation into a one-time-purchase experience, the developers aim to preserve the title so it can live on beyond its service lifespan. Hirasawa noted that the team also hopes to win over players who typically avoid gacha games.
The gameplay features significant changes compared to the original mobile version. While it remains a command-based RPG, the combat core now utilizes a chain system where players link skills together like a puzzle during party formation and combat execution. Outside of battle, the developers rebuilt maps as fully 3D spaces that allow free movement, replacing the side-scrolling movement and random encounters of the original version with symbol encounters.
The scenario is fully voiced for the main story, side quests, and major character scenes. The original narrative was written by Masato Kato, who previously wrote scenarios for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. The original mobile title started by appealing to fans of time-travel stories and grew into a project supported by a broad range of gamers, features that the development team retained for the upcoming console release.
