ANANTA Release Date Scheduled for January 15, 2027

NetEase has announced that the open-world game ANANTA, formerly known as Project Mugen, will officially release on January 15, 2027.

NetEase has announced during gamescom 2026 that its upcoming open-world title, ANANTA—formerly known as Project Mugen—is scheduled to launch on January 15, 2027. The announcement arrived alongside a new trailer shown during the Opening Night Live showcase, providing players with additional looks at the game's mechanics, world locations, and character roster.

In ANANTA, players assume the role of an Anti-Chaos Directorate (ACD) Task Force Captain. Teaming up with coworkers Richie, who features oni-style horns, and Taffy, a rabbit-girl, players work to protect a stylized city from both standard and unorthodox threats. The game's open-world design draws comparisons to titles such as Grand Theft Auto and Neverness to Everness.

When the game launches on January 15, 2027, it will be available across multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 5, PC, and Android and iOS mobile devices. Ahead of its official release, publisher NetEase expects to share additional insights at upcoming gaming events, such as Tokyo Game Show 2026. The official website for the title is currently live for fans looking to track future developments.
