American Truck Simulator Announces South Dakota DLC Release Date
SCS Software has announced that the South Dakota DLC for American Truck Simulator will launch on PC via Steam on September 24, 2026.
SCS Software has officially announced the release date for the upcoming South Dakota expansion in American Truck Simulator. According to the announcement, the new regional DLC is scheduled to launch for PC via Steam on September 24, 2026. While an official price has not been formally specified, previous state-focused expansions historically maintain a consistent $11.99 price point.
The upcoming expansion will introduce a wide array of notable landscapes and monuments to explore, including the Great Plains, the Badlands, the Black Hills, and Mount Rushmore alongside its memorial. Furthermore, developers noted that South Dakota is slated to be among the initial states to feature upcoming Road Trip content once the car-driving expansion becomes available in the future. The Road Trip feature is set to expand the gameplay experience beyond traditional semi-trucks to include cars and pickup trucks, allowing for pure exploration and smaller package deliveries through features like the Atlas system for purchasing and customizing rides.
Beyond the South Dakota map expansion, the simulator's pipeline includes additional regional content such as the British Columbia DLC, which will bring the game across the Canadian border, alongside future projects covering Indiana, North Dakota, and a Nevada rework. Version 1.61 for the PC edition is currently available in open beta, and console versions targeting the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are additionally in development. American Truck Simulator is currently available on PC as the sister title to Euro Truck Simulator 2.
