American Truck Simulator Reveals Pierre from South Dakota DLC and Whistler in British Columbia

Developer SCS Software has released new information and assets detailing two specific locations featured in upcoming expansions for American Truck Simulator. Highlighting the forthcoming South Dakota downloadable content, the studio showcased the state capital city of Pierre alongside its sister city, Fort Pierre. Players traversing Pierre will encounter recognizable landmarks such as the State Capitol Building, a local bison mural, Fort Volunteer, the Casey Tibbs Rodeo Center Museum, the official welcome sign, and the Discovery Center. Cargo haulers will also have the opportunity to take on jobs transporting goods to and from local establishments including a shopping center, landscape supplies depot, roadwork depot, and the local airport. Meanwhile, operations in Fort Pierre will feature a truck dealer, livestock auction, mining machinery service, and a dedicated truck stop depot.

Shifting focus toward Canada, SCS Software highlighted the resort town of Whistler, which will be included in the upcoming British Columbia DLC. Situated along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, the mountain town features distinct alpine architecture, towering peaks, and surrounding dense forests. This expansion represents a major milestone for the simulation title as it crosses national borders into Canada.

Additional roadmap details confirm that the South Dakota DLC is scheduled to release on September 24, following previous previews highlighting Hot Springs, Badlands National Park, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, the Black Hills, and Mount Rushmore. Following the British Columbia expansion, the game will return to the United States with planned content for Indiana and North Dakota, alongside a Nevada rework. Furthermore, the studio is developing a new Road Trip feature that expands gameplay from commercial freight to cars and pickup trucks through dedicated vehicle packs, including the Ford Car Pack and the Ram & Dodge Car Pack, complete with vehicle customization and purchasing mechanics tied to an Atlas feature. American Truck Simulator is currently available on PC, with open beta testing for version 1.61 already underway, while future console ports for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are also in development.
