Developer SCS Software has showcased new screenshots and video footage highlighting Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills region for the upcoming South Dakota DLC in American Truck Simulator.
Developer SCS Software has revealed fresh screenshots and video footage showcasing the centerpiece of the upcoming South Dakota DLC for American Truck Simulator: Mount Rushmore and its surrounding area. The reveal features the small town of Keystone, known for its Wild West charm and the depot for the historic 1880 Train. Players will be able to experience local routes such as US-16, also known as Mount Rushmore Road, and US-16A, also called Iron Mountain Road. The Black Hills area surrounding the monument offers numerous landmarks and scenic vistas.
The media was shared via an official post on the game's X account. The upcoming South Dakota expansion follows previous showcases of the region's truck stops, countryside, towns, cities, Hot Springs, Badlands National Park, industries, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and the broader road network.
Looking ahead, American Truck Simulator is set to eventually cross the border into Canada with the British Columbia DLC, and later return to the United States with planned Indiana and North Dakota expansions alongside a Nevada rework. Additionally, an upcoming Road Trip feature will introduce cars and pickup trucks—supported by the Ford Car Pack and the Ram & Dodge Car Pack—to allow pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages alongside the traditional trucking experience.
American Truck Simulator is currently available for PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions also on the way.
