Aion 2 hits Steam's top seller, early access outsells major releases ahead of worldwide launch

Aion 2 is days away from its worldwide release following its launch in Korea and Taiwan roughly a year ago. The MMORPG has already climbed to number one on Steam's Top Sellers chart through early access founders' packs priced from £18.49.

By revenue this week, Aion 2's founders' packs have outsold recent major releases including EA FC 27, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, and Gears of War: E-Day. Each pack includes in-game cosmetics and consumables alongside early access.

Player numbers are building momentum. Aion 2 currently ranks ninth on Steam's Most Played chart, above Delta Force and Delta Lock but behind established titles like PUBG, Apex Legends, and Wardogs. The ranking is expected to climb further once the game becomes free-to-play for all players.

The game blends tab-target combat with action-oriented elements similar to Black Desert Online. Features include flight, pet collection through enemy kills, over 1,100 achievements, and a mix of PvP and PvE events. Character creation offers substantial customization options for building personalized avatars through the main story.
