Aether and Iron Confirmed for Console Release in 2027

Seismic Squirrel announced that its decopunk narrative RPG Aether and Iron will launch on PlayStation and Xbox consoles in 2027 alongside a new free content update.

Developer Seismic Squirrel announced plans to bring its decopunk narrative role-playing game Aether and Iron to home consoles. Previously released on PC and Mac earlier this year through Steam, the game is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027. The title casts players in the role of Gia, a smuggler operating within an alternate 1930s New York city altered by the discovery of an anti-gravitational technology known as aether. Players must assemble a crew, upgrade their vehicle, and navigate turn-based vehicular combat while uncovering a deep conspiracy.

Alongside the console announcement, Seismic Squirrel detailed a new free content update for the game. The update releases on September 14, 2026, and introduces two distinct side quests. One quest explores the relationship between Gia and Benny, while the other delves further into the history and mechanics of the aether technology featured throughout the narrative.
