Aegis Force: The Scorian War enters Steam Early Access

Indie studio Zenahive has launched its debut title, Aegis Force: The Scorian War, on PC via Steam Early Access. The game is described as a story-driven, turn-based tactical RPG inspired by genre classics such as Shining Force II, Fire Emblem, and Final Fantasy Tactics, and is presented in a 2.5D pixel art style.

The Early Access build is priced at $24.99, a 10% launch discount off the studio's listed price. According to Zenahive, the build launches with roughly 6-8 hours of content, seven recruitable characters, and regions containing two cities to explore. The Early Access version is available in English and in Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

Aegis Force: The Scorian War is set on the continent of Ianua and centers on two nations, one empowered by magic and the other by technology, locked in a century-long war whose origins have been largely forgotten. Players travel across the continent, planning heists, battling monsters, uncovering ancient weapons, and foiling dark plots, while facing moral dilemmas intended to shape the experience. Zenahive says new story and general game content is expected to arrive every 4-8 weeks, alongside ongoing bug fixes, polish, and planned UI improvements.

The studio is targeting a version 1.0 full release in 2027, which it says will expand the game to 20-30 hours of content and unlock the full world map, additional UI improvements, and extra character moves. Console versions are also promised, but Zenahive has not yet shared release details or specific platforms, framing those announcements for a later date.

The launch follows a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $12,000. Speaking about the Early Access debut, Zenahive founder Christian Smith described the project as a passion project over its two years of development and said the team plans to continue incorporating player feedback throughout Early Access ahead of the full launch.
