Activision and Toys for Bob Reveal New Details and Artwork for Spyro: A Realm Beyond

Activision has published a new blog post in honor of Spyro’s birthday and Spyro Community Day 2026, revealing fresh details regarding the upcoming title Spyro: A Realm Beyond. Originally announced earlier this summer, the new adventure is developed by Toys for Bob and continues Spyro's journey with a fresh chapter and a brand-new realm.

According to a press release from the developers, the core goal for Toys for Bob has been to craft the game that fans originally dreamed of when first discovering the franchise, staying true to classic elements while introducing exciting new possibilities. Alongside this announcement, publisher Activision and developer Toys for Bob also released new artwork showcasing Spyro, his friends, and early game environments.

Among the newly detailed features is the addition of "true dragon flight." While traditional skills such as charging, jumping, gliding, and treasure collection remain essential components of the gameplay experience, flight serves as an evolution of those foundational mechanics. The new traversal system is designed to allow players to expand exploration by charging across ground areas or soaring overhead to uncover hidden paths and new adventures, deepening freedom of movement.

To mark Spyro Community Day 2026, Activision teamed up with community members and creators for a special "burn-away cake" activation reflecting Spyro's fiery personality. This celebration offered a closer look at Arcadian Vale, which serves as one of the early regions players will explore in the game. Described in the press release as a calm, serene environment filled with natural beauty, Arcadian Vale features cascading waterfalls, ancient stone structures, and lush greenery designed to create a vibrant and magical landscape.
