Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut broke a months-long drought without a major player award by dragging Vitality to the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 title in Barcelona. The French rifler earned his fifth MVP of the year with a dominant 1.50 rating and 1.24 KPRW, commanding the grand final with a decisive round swing contribution of +6.13% overall. The gap between ZywOo and other contenders was so wide that there was no real MVP race once the championship match began.

ZywOo had earned four MVPs in the first half of 2026 but watched his award streak end as Vitality slipped in form during the second half of the season. He acknowledged the weight of that absence when speaking to HLTV after the final. "I wanted at least one MVP for the second part of the season," ZywOo said, "just to be a bit more confident and to win also a trophy. So I think it will come also with that. So now it feels good to have this MVP."

Despite FURIA's failure to reach the grand final, Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato earned the tournament's top EVP (exceptional value player) award. He posted a 1.26 rating with 89.9 average damage per round across the event, marking his fourth consecutive tournament above a 1.20 rating. KSCERATO showed added responsibility with Danil "molodoy" Golubenko managing eye issues, delivering seven standout maps and proving he could compete against top ten teams with a 1.23 rating in those matchups.

Jimi "Jimpphat" Leppälä nearly emerged as a challenger to ZywOo for the top individual honor before faltering in the grand final. The Finnish anchor delivered a 1.41 rating in map wins leading up to the final and earned three player-of-the-map awards, including a standout performance in Vitality's upper final demolition of Aurora. This marked Jimpphat's first EVP since IEM Rio in late 2024, validating Ashley "ash" Battye's stated commitment to rebuilding him as a star anchor.

Vitality's second-place finisher ropz contributed significantly to the championship run, particularly in the final day's matches. He posted a 1.28 rating in map wins and 1.24 rating across Vitality's six Barcelona maps, though he struggled against Aurora in the upper final. The Cache match against FURIA showcased his return to form, with a first-half ADR of 113 setting the tone for Vitality's dominance that day. This performance reversed his recent slump, as ropz had averaged just 1.06 rating since July.

The all-star roster for StarSeries featured ZywOo and apEX representing the champions, with KSCERATO claiming the closer role and Jimpphat anchoring. Shahar "flameZ" Shushan and Felipe "insani" Yuji competed for the opener position, with insani's 1.16 KPRW advantage over flameZ's 0.84 securing him the nod.

ZywOo's tenth career MVP medal marks his fifth separate year reaching five or more MVP awards, underscoring his sustained excellence at Counter-Strike's highest level.
