YouTube Expands Playables Games to Over 50 Markets Across EU and Nordics
YouTube has quietly extended its Playables webgaming service to more than 50 markets including the EU and Nordic regions, up from just seven when the feature launched in 2024.

YouTube has significantly expanded its Playables games service, rolling out the webgaming feature to over 50 markets across Europe and the Nordic region. YouTube gaming partnerships manager Joel Jansson confirmed the expansion on LinkedIn, marking a major growth for the platform's casual gaming offering.
Playables debuted in just seven markets in 2024, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, Malaysia and Türkiye. The service features mobile games ported to the web, with titles like Build A Queen, Snake Clash and Stealth Master accumulating over 90 million plays combined. Supersonic's Tall Man Run has reached 106 million plays on the platform.
Games from major mobile publishers including SayGames, Supercent, Supersonic, Voodoo, Playgama, TapNation and CrazyLabs are among the most popular titles available. The initial trial in 2023 included developers like Rovio, Voodoo, Zeptolab and FRVR, with games such as Angry Birds Showdown and Cut The Rope featured prominently.
YouTube added live-streaming and chat functionality to Playables in September 2025. According to Jansson, Google is also planning to test in-app purchase solutions during 2027, suggesting further monetisation options for developers on the platform.
